PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 29, 2012) - Cyan today announced the appointment of Ken Siegel as vice president and general counsel. The addition of Siegel to the Cyan leadership team will help address legal, regulatory, and compliance matters as the company accelerates its global expansion. Siegel has considerable experience with both private and public companies in the software and hardware sectors, skills that closely match Cyan's business profile.
According to Mark Floyd, Cyan chairman and CEO, "Ken brings the perfect skill set to Cyan -- he has played key roles in companies with multinational operations, he has been involved in both software and hardware companies, and he has experience with both privately held and publicly traded companies."
Siegel most recently served as senior vice president and general counsel at QuinStreet, an internet direct marketing company. Prior to QuinStreet, Siegel served as senior vice president and general counsel at SafeNet, a provider of data security products and solutions. Prior to SafeNet, Ken served as vice president and general counsel at Verigy, a provider of advanced semiconductor test systems and solutions, where he was responsible for legal affairs and compliance worldwide, corporate governance, including SEC reporting, and legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions and strategic transactions. Before that, Ken was senior vice president and general counsel at Agile Software Corporation, a provider of product lifecycle management software solutions.
"Cyan represents a unique opportunity in the emerging software-defined networking space," said Siegel. "With advanced software products and innovative packet optical platforms, Cyan has the opportunity to blend what had heretofore been discrete market segments. I look forward to helping the company execute in that mission."
Earlier in his career, Siegel served as senior vice president and general counsel at Efficient Networks, Inc., a publicly traded broadband telecommunications equipment company that was acquired by Siemens AG. Prior to joining Efficient, Siegel was with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati as a partner in the corporate & securities practice group.
Siegel holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
