KIEV, UKRAINE--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2012) - CNH, with its two agricultural brands Case IH and New Holland Agriculture, is the exclusive sponsor of the third Large Farm Management international conference, which was held in Kiev on September 19, 2012.
The conference provided a platform to discuss global agribusiness developments, the latest technologies and practices to improve productivity and efficiency for large-scale farms, and international competitiveness in the agricultural sector.
The event, attended by representatives from Ukraine's largest agricultural farms, agricultural manufacturers and input suppliers, as well as government officials and academic delegates from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Europe, Brazil and other countries, was organized by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club and supported by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Central and Eastern Europe, and the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.
Case New Holland's top level sponsorship and participation in the conference is aimed at promoting agricultural best practices and reflects the Company's strong commitment to the Ukrainian agribusiness sector.
With large-scale farms contributing more than 50% of the Country's total agricultural output, the supply of reliable and advanced agricultural equipment, matched with the appropriate cultivation practices, is of paramount importance in meeting the business needs of these large farms.
During the session on "Agricultural Technologies", Sean Lennon, Head of Product Marketing for CNH International, gave insight into the benefits of precision farming and "no-tillage" seeding and planting.
CNH is constantly investing in advanced technologies; its Case IH and New Holland agricultural equipment offerings are complemented by a complete line-up of precision farming tools, which are available with both GPS and Glonass satellite navigation systems -- compatibility as standard -- in order to offer maximum accuracy and reliability in diverse agricultural operations.
Precision farming systems allow farmers to accurately place seeds with the right amount of fertilizer, control machine maintenance, map crop results to manage in-field variables and improve productivity, cost savings, ease of operation, and ultimately, profitability.
"No-tillage" seeding and planting, coupled with the use of precision farming tools, could provide further advantages in terms of reduced soil erosion, better water management and fuel savings, plus increased soil fertility and better yields.
At the conference Case IH and New Holland also unveiled a new trial campaign for their "no-tillage" planting and seeding systems for Ukrainian farmers interested in testing these technologies and their benefits directly in the field.
