FLAGSTAFF, AZ--(Marketwire - Oct 10, 2012) - Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs, the nation's only marijuana-themed restaurant franchise, is reopening in Flagstaff, Ariz. Oct. 13 in the same location, 1411 South Milton Road.
Having garnered a strong following from Northern Arizona University students, Cheba Hut's grand reopening has been highly anticipated since temporarily closing its doors in April 2012 for internal restructuring.
The grand reopening is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will feature a ranch-chugging contest at 3:30 p.m. Participating "ranch-chugging" customers will be timed drinking 24 ounces of ranch dressing and will compete for cash prizes. Day-of events will also include a BMX exhibition. As the grand finale, riders will jump off a ramp, over a bus and into a pool of Kool-Aid at 4:20 p.m.
Cheba Hut is discounting menu items on Oct. 13 to solicit canned food donations. For each person who brings a can to the grand opening, Cheba Hut will offer Nugs -- the name of its small toasted sub -- for $1. Canned food, cash donations from customers and a $1,000 donation from Cheba Hut will benefit Northern Arizona Food Bank.
"Cheba Hut is proud to be part of such a great community," said Dorian Lenz, local franchisee. "We are excited to keep things rolling in Flagstaff!"
Local artists will play live music from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and local businesses will hold free raffles throughout the day.
Franchisee Dorian Lenz owns three Cheba Hut restaurants in the Valley, making the reopening in Flagstaff his fourth location in Arizona.
