Burnaby Resident Hits $3.2 Million Lotto 6/49 Jackpot

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 22, 2013) - The normally quiet and reserved Anne Ip of Burnaby has a giant smile after collecting a $3.2 million jackpot at the BCLC Vancouver office.

The 66-year-old mother and grandmother matched all six numbers on the August 14 Lotto 6/49 draw to win the $3,197,183 million jackpot.

"My first reaction was awe," said Ip. "I'm overwhelmed. It's unreal after you discover you've won this much money."

The winning Lotto 6/49 ticket was purchased in Burnaby at the lottery retailer in Lougheed Mall.

"I've shared the news with my immediate family," added Ip. "I can't believe my eyes!"

Ip commented that she plans to go house hunting in Burnaby right after she purchases a new car.

B.C. winners were extremely fortunate to win three major prizes on the August 14 draw. Tickets sold in Chilliwack and Victoria both matched 5/6 numbers on the same draw to win $114,185.10 each.

Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PT). Players can purchase tickets at their favourite lottery retailer or at PlayNow.com.
