Boise, Idaho Hotel Welcomes New General Manager

Steve Stoddard Brings Well-Rounded Hotel Experience to Courtyard Boise West/Meridian

MERIDIAN, ID--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - If a hotel could create the perfect general manager, they'd not only want someone with hotel and management experience, but someone who knows how the entire operation is run. That's exactly what the Courtyard Boise West/Meridian found in Steve Stoddard, the new general manager at this Boise, Idaho hotel.

Stoddard began his hotel career as an accounting manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Boise Central, where he continued on to become director of housekeeping. His next few positions took him away from the Marriott brand but brought him experience as a front office manager, operations manager, director of sales and even general manager.

"While I have experience with Hilton, IHG and some independents," Stoddard says, "it feels like home being back at a Marriott."

Stoddard's wide-ranging experience makes him a perfect fit as the new general manager at this hotel near Boise State University, which is managed by Twenty Four Seven Hotels, based out of Newport Beach, CA. While succeeding at work is important to Stoddard, he also lives by wise words of Dale Carnegie, who said, "People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing."

When's he's not managing the Courtyard, Stoddard spends time cycling, running and mountain biking. In the last year he did five foot races; three in Idaho, one in Colorado and one in Utah. He was also recently part of an eight-man team that did a 120-mile trail relay within 24 hours. While he's an avid racer, he says, "The most important thing I accomplish each week is the Sunday afternoon hike to the top of Camel's Back Park with my three-year-old daughter."
