NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2012) - Rebel Rock Entertainment/Grand Hustle/Atlantic recording artist B.o.B has officially announced the release of B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game. The mobile game -- created by Atlantic Records and GLOW Interactive for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch -- is available exclusively at the App Store today. Additional info on B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game, including a game trailer, is available at www.strangecloudsthegame.com.
B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game takes users on a journey with B.o.B as he travels through space, learning the secrets of a new alien race. Players earn fuel for their "rocket ship" while slicing shapes out of strange clouds. The faster and more accurate the shapes are carved, the more fuel is earned, allowing B.o.B fans everywhere to join the Grammy Award-nominated artist as he ascends into a higher -- and stranger -- space.
Highlighted by three original music tracks -- specially created by some of B.o.B's top collaborators -- B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game offers players the chance to collect coins along the way to buy power-ups or to personalized items they can use to customize their "rocket ship." As a result, each flight on B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game will offer a one-of-a-kind gaming experience, with every mission randomly generated for maximum excitement and repeat game play.
"Atlantic Records is always looking to provide fans with new and innovative ways of interacting with artist content," said Paul Sinclair, SVP of Digital Media at Atlantic Records. "To that end, we felt fans of such a creative and inventive artist like B.o.B would really enjoy playing a casual game inspired by his hit album, 'STRANGE CLOUDS.'"
"Our goal was to create a game experience for B.o.B that not only meshed with the theme of his new album, 'STRANGE CLOUDS,'" but one that would also appeal to a broader gaming audience," said Ted Kacandes from GLOW Interactive. "We were extremely pleased with B.o.B's reaction to the game, considering he's an avid gamer, and the feedback that we've received so far through the testing phase. We hope the fans will enjoy playing B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game as much as we enjoyed creating it."
B.o.B's Strange Clouds: The Game celebrates the recent release of B.o.B's acclaimed second album, "STRANGE CLOUDS." Fueled by such hit singles as "So Good," "Both Of Us (Feat. Taylor Swift)," and the RIAA platinum certified "Strange Clouds (Feat. Lil Wayne)," the album made an explosive chart debut upon its release earlier this year, entering the SoundScan/Billboard 200 at #5.
"STRANGE CLOUDS" sees B.o.B advancing his mission to erase genre boundaries while simultaneously expanding the breadth and scope of a distinctive creative vision. The album -- which follows 2010's RIAA gold certified debut, "B.o.B PRESENTS: THE ADVENTURES OF BOBBY RAY" -- earned widespread acclaim from an array of international publications, including Entertainment Weekly, which awarded the collection an "A-," hailing it as "an impressive testament to (B.o.B's) infectious, unflappable cool. The guy knows how to hang in nearly every sonic situation, and master it -- just like a real rock star."
B.o.B has appeared on a wide range of high profile TV shows, such as a recent performance of the "STRANGE CLOUDS" track, "Ray Bands," on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Other career highlights include his own acclaimed MTV Unplugged episode and an installment of MTV's hit series, When I Was 17, as well as performances on, among others, NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, MTV's The Seven, and E!'s Chelsea Lately and The Daily 10.
As inventive and exciting on stage as he is in the studio, B.o.B is currently ready to embark on a major headline tour of the U.K. -- for details please see www.bobatl.com/tour. In addition to sold out headline shows around the world -- including unprecedented performances in Asia and Russia -- the ATL-based artist has stolen the show at such events as the "National Gen44 Summit Kick Off Concert with President Barack Obama," the 2010 BMI Urban Music Awards, the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards, and Jay-Z and Eminem's blockbuster "Home & Home" double-bills at New York's Yankee Stadium and Detroit's Comerica Park.
"B.o.B PRESENTS: THE ADVENTURES OF BOBBY RAY" immediately established B.o.B as a major force in popular music. The acclaimed collection -- which also received gold certification in both Canada and the UK -- spawned a streak of hugely successful singles, including the 2x-platinum certified, #1 smash, "Nothin' On You (Feat. Bruno Mars)," the 3x-platinum "Airplanes (Feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore)," and the platinum "Magic (Feat. Rivers Cuomo)."
Having made a spectacular #1 debut atop the Billboard 200, the album earned the B.o.B a number of prestigious Grammy Awards nominations, including "Best Rap Album," "Record of the Year," "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration," "Best Rap Song," and "Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals." In addition, the gifted rapper/songwriter/musician proved one of the most honored artists in recent memory, earning multiple nominations from the American Music Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, the BET Hip-Hop Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards, the Teen Choice Awards, and the Soul Train Music Awards, which named "Nothin' On You" as the "Best Song" of 2010.
