LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - October 21, 2008) - Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a diversified commercial law firm with more than 120 attorneys in 13 Florida offices, New York City and affiliated international offices, announced that five of its attorneys have received promotions to shareholder and senior attorney level in recognition of their professional development, outstanding work and dedication to client service.

Appointed as Shareholder Attorneys were:

--  Michael Gongora - Mr. Gongora is a member of the Firm's Community
    Association Law and Litigation Groups and the lead Community Association
    Litigator in the Miami office.  He is a former Miami Beach City
    Commissioner who now chairs the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach
    (ECOMB).  Fully bilingual (Spanish/English), the University of Miami
    College of Law cum laude graduate was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995.
    
--  Sanjay Kurian - A Board Certified Construction Lawyer practicing in
    the Ft. Myers office, Mr. Kurian is a member of the Firm's Construction Law
    and Commercial Litigation groups. He graduated from Boston University
    School of Law in 1999 and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year.
    He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert M. Gross at
    the Fourth District Court of Appeal.  Mr. Kurian primarily handles
    construction matters for owners and developers, including construction
    contracts, liens and construction defect claims.
    
--  Kevin Miller - Mr. Miller is an attorney with the Firm's Ft. Myers
    office who focuses on Commercial Litigation.  His
    Litigation Practice includes Real Estate Law, Employment Law, Collections
    and Foreclosures, and issues unique to Community Associations.  He also
    leads the Firm's Collections and Foreclosures Practice state-wide.  The
    Creighton University School of Law graduate was admitted to the Florida Bar
    in 2000.
    
--  David Muller - A member of the Firm's Community Association and
    Litigation Practice Groups, Mr. Muller serves as the Co-Executive Director
    of Becker & Poliakoff's Community Association Leadership Lobby (CALL). He
    leads the Sarasota office Litigation Department and the Collection and
    Foreclosure Departments for the Sarasota and Tampa Bay offices.  Mr. Muller
    graduated from the University of Miami School of Law and was admitted to
    the Florida Bar in 2000 and Texas Bar in 2002.
    

Announced as a Senior Attorney:

--  Mark Friedman - Mr. Friedman is a member of the Firm's Community
    Association Law Group providing representation of condominium, homeowner,
    and cooperative associations from the West Palm Beach office. Prior to
    becoming an attorney, Mr. Friedman had a successful career in international
    business which included five years as a teacher and seminar leader in
    Japan.  He is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law
    Center, and has been practicing Community Association Law with Becker &
    Poliakoff since his admittance to the Florida Bar in 2005.
