Aristocrat Licenses AMC's "The Walking Dead" to Create Engrossing New Video Slot Game

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jun 6, 2013) - Zombies are taking over casinos across North America! Aristocrat has inked a licensing agreement to bring AMC's monster hit "The Walking Dead" to a casino near you.

Based on AMC's series, Aristocrat's "The Walking Dead" slot machine game http://www.aristocratplayingdead.com grabs players and puts them right in the middle of the show's gritty post-apocalyptic world with a chance to escape with some major jackpots. Aristocrat is bringing AMC's series to its award-winning VERVEhd® cabinet, where video clips and images from the show will come to life with stunning HD video and sound.

The thrilling and chilling new game is expected to hit casino slot floors starting in early fall 2013, coinciding with the launch of the series' highly anticipated fourth season.

Since its debut in October 2010, "The Walking Dead" has become the most-watched TV drama in cable TV history. The season three finale set ratings records, attracting 12.4 million viewers total, with 8.1 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic. The show also has nearly 17 million followers on Facebook and has earned two Emmy® Awards.

"We are very excited to bring AMC's 'The Walking Dead' to our product line of player-favorite games. We have been very aggressive in bringing top licensed products to operators and to their players, and this new license with AMC and 'The Walking Dead' is a continuation of that strategy," said Dallas Orchard Vice President of Gaming Operations.

"Capitalizing on the show's dedicated following; we have designed a game that will appeal to the show's audience which consistently draws a viewership, the most for any show on television for the 18-49 demographic. Clips and images from the show will combine with our proven math models to create an incredible experience," Orchard added.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, "The Walking Dead" chronicles the struggle for survival after a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors led by police officer Rick Grimes as they deal with challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies and the toll these challenges take.

Players of Aristocrat's "The Walking Dead" will have the opportunity to face some of these same challenges. After all, living in a world of zombies is always a gamble.
