Apprio Appoints H. Allen Dobbs, MD as New CMIO


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Nov 12, 2012) - Apprio, a leading provider of specialized technology solutions, particularly for the health, defense and homeland security markets, today announced it has appointed H. Allen Dobbs, MD as its new Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO).

In his new role as CMIO, Dobbs is responsible for Apprio's health sector strategy, including the company's health sector innovation efforts. 

Dr. Dobbs comes to Apprio from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where as Chief Medical Officer he oversaw the strategic remodeling of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), a federally coordinated system that augments the nation's medical response capability. Dr. Dobbs also led innovations in deployable health information systems, workforce safety and health, and medical oversight to national response and contingency operations.

A graduate of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences School of Medicine, Dr. Dobbs has a long history in the Indian Health Service, where he provided leadership in clinical services, health information systems and several major disaster responses.
