EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 22, 2012) - In two weeks, Northern Alberta's communicators will gather to celebrate the most outstanding communications work Northern Alberta has to offer. Communicators will gather on June 5, 2012 to enjoy an evening of old Hollywood glamour at IABC Edmonton's annual Capital Awards Gala.

On Tuesday, June 5, join IABC Edmonton for the 2012 Capital Awards Gala at the TransAlta Arts Barns (10330 84 Avenue). Cocktails begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Annual General Meeting, dinner service and lastly the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.
In addition to awards in areas such as Communications & Marketing Programs & Campaigns, Special Events, Visual Communications and many more, IABC Edmonton will award three Awards of Distinction. The Capital Communicator of the Year award goes to a senior leader in an organization who holds a non-communications position but who openly supports the importance of the role of communications in the organization's success. The Communicator of the Year award goes to a communications professional who has executed exemplary communication strategies and tactics in 2011 and throughout his or her career. The Member of the Year award goes to a member who has provided outstanding service to IABC Edmonton.
