Active Power Demonstrates Thought Leadership on Utility Grid Transformation and Its Impact on Data Center Power Infrastructure

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 17, 2012) - With the power sources that feed today's data centers constantly evolving, operators need to ensure mission critical server loads are receiving the best possible energy source. This begins with the UPS (uninterruptible power supply) which plays a critical role in selecting the best possible power source for the load, but also conditions main power.

Bernardo Mendez, UPS product line manager, at Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW) will present on the evolution of the utility grid and the changing role and relevancy the UPS will play in tomorrow's data center. The load profiles of the data center are certainly changing and are important, but just as relevant is the transformation of the grid which remains the data center's main source of energy. Mendez will discuss these changes, how critical power infrastructure will be affected, and what operators can be doing now to future proof their facility.

WHAT:
"Can today's critical power infrastructure support the data center of tomorrow?"

WHEN:
Tuesday, Oct. 2, 8:00-9:00 a.m. (CT)

WHERE:
AFCOM Data Center World, Nashville, Tenn., Gaylord Opryland, Room Jackson EF
