CHAPEL HILL, NC--(Marketwire - July 25, 2012) -  The ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification Institute attended the U.S. Public Health Service Scientific and Training Symposium held June 19-21 at the University of Maryland, College Park. Over 1,000 public health officials and medical professionals gathered at the USPHS Symposium which was themed: "Prevention Strategies for a Healthier Nation: Building on the Basics for Public Health."

The USPHS Symposium provided military medical leaders and organizations with critical news and information on current public health. The Institute attended the opening ceremony and the C. Everett Koop lecture, presented by Rear Admiral Kenneth P. Moritsugu. Dr. Moritsugu covered a wide range of topics such as the recent Affordable Care Act, patient protection, the dynamics of the relationship between the public and private health sector, and more.

The USPHS Symposium brought the nation's top health administrators and medical providers together to exchange information and ideas on the latest public health trends, problems, and solutions. Military medical professionals were provided with information on medical training and career opportunities at the exhibit hall. The Institute presented its latest ACLS, BLS, and PALS course offerings to military medical professionals at the exhibit hall.
