BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ--(Marketwire - October 29, 2008) - The Yellow Pages Association (YPA) today announced that Scott A. Pomeroy, president and CEO of Local Insight Media Holdings, Inc., has been elected to YPA's board of directors.
"The Yellow Pages Association is pleased to have Scott join our board of directors," said Neg Norton, president of YPA. "The strategic perspective Scott brings to our board, which represents more than 430 Yellow Pages industry members, is a great asset in a time of such rapid transformation in our industry."
Pomeroy has seven years of executive-level experience in the Yellow Pages industry. He is currently president and CEO of Local Insight Media, a directory and local search company that now serves approximately 340,000 advertisers in 42 states, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Prior to joining Local Insight Media, Pomeroy held several executive positions with Dex Media, Inc., including chief financial officer and vice president of finance and treasurer.
"I look forward to working with the board of directors as we work to expand, redefine and communicate our role in helping businesses generate qualified, measurable leads," said Pomeroy. "In today's volatile environment, the certainty of the value we deliver -- our ability to attract ready-to-buy consumers with print and online solutions -- is a distinct advantage over other forms of media."
YPA's board of directors is led by Chairman David Swanson, chairman and CEO of R.H. Donnelley; Vice Chair Frank Jules, president and CEO of AT&T Advertising and Publishing; and Secretary and Treasurer Scott W. Klein, CEO of Idearc, Inc. Additional director seats include Peter Broadbent, Wahlstrom Group; Christopher Cummings, Marquette Group; Herb Gordon, Association of Directory Marketing; Kathy Hipple, Ambassador Publications; Edward Lane, RR Donnelley; Marc Tellier, Yellow Pages Group and Neg Norton, YPA.
