XebiaLabs Announces Deployit 1.3 Beta and U.S. Launch
Solution Upgrade Addresses Deployment Automation in Virtual and Cloud Environments
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 3, 2010) - XebiaLabs, the deployment automation company for Java applications, today announced the beta release of their award winning deployment automation solution, Deployit 1.3, as well as the establishment of its North American Headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. The new office will support XebiaLabs' growing North American customer base while providing support to its existing regional team.
The product upgrade incorporates significant usability enhancements, as well as auto-discovery of servers, clusters and nodes, with additional support for package composition, to help create an accurate and deployable process. With newly added support for virtualized and cloud environments, Deployit 1.3 Beta can consistently manage the explosion of virtual servers and rein in issues of virtual sprawl through its repeatable automation process.
In response to customer feedback, the free Personal Edition of Deployit 1.3 Beta incorporates a new task-driven user interface that automatically guides users through the various deployment stages of packaging, discovery and actual deployment. It also provides extensive contextual help to better guide users through the process.
The improvements incorporated into version 1.3 will help further reduce the risks and costs associated with manual deployment practices, while helping businesses achieve faster time-to-market for new or modified applications. Deployit 1.3 Beta also allows companies to become less reliant on specialists because deployments can be performed more easily by developers and system administrators. By eliminating the waiting time caused by errors during deployment and reliance on specialists, companies can achieve faster turnaround time for major projects and begin generating revenue sooner.
"Before using Deployit, we were facing problems and errors in over 70 percent of all software deployments; but with Deployit we are able to easily automate the deployment process end to end," said Ronald Bosch, Manager WebSystems, KLM/Air France. "Deployit provides us with a more powerful system that helps reduce repetitive work, boost productivity and improve quality. Now, we're able to focus more on developing advanced online functions for our internal and external customers."
Those interested may register to become a beta trial user and provide feedback on the increased usability and enhanced features. In just the first 24 hours, the beta program has already registered over 100 users.
"We're always looking for ways to improve our deployment automation solution and hope to encourage feedback through the Deployit 1.3 Beta program that will make software deployment processes even easier," said Reint Jan Holterman, VP Marketing, XebiaLabs. "The improvements with Deployit 1.3 will enable companies to better manage their Java application deployments all the way from development through production by eliminating configuration errors and increasing the quality and predictability of the deployment process as a whole. We're excited to be bringing our expertise and product more directly to users through our new local presence."
