WPT Boot Camp Announces Largest Ever Field of Pros for Battle for the Season Pass III
The World Poker Tour Boot Camp's "Battle for the Season Pass III" Will Host a Star Studded Field of Pros / Instructors Including T.J. Cloutier, Clonie Gowen, Scotty Ngyuen, Todd Brunson, Michael Binger, Hoyt Corkins, Gavin Smith, Kenna James, David Williams, Tom McEvoy, Linda Johnson, Bill Elder, Jean Robert-Bellande, Kristy Gazes, Bill Chen, Nick Binger, and Chip Jett
SUNRISE, FL--(Marketwire - November 11, 2008) - The field of poker pros, who also take on the
role of "instructors" at the WPT Boot Camp's Battle for the Season Pass,
has been announced. No surprise that this year's field is the largest yet
and that it contains some of the top names in the industry.
This year's Battle will take place December 1-7 in Punta Cana, Dominican
Republic.
"We've created the ultimate poker week," says Ron Rubens, founder of the
WPT Boot Camp. "We'll bring over 200 Boot Campers and a cast of pros to a
deluxe Caribbean destination. Our guests get to learn from, play against
and hang out with these pros for the entire week. It's like Poker Heaven."
Students are immersed in two days of "live learning labs" which many
students consider to be the best part of Boot Camps. The action heats up
when the attendees and the pros square off in three tournaments with prizes
totaling over $250,000 including the Main Event where the winner walks away
with a $110,000 grand prize consisting of ten $10,000 buy-ins plus $10,000
in spending money.
"To spend time learning from Scotty Nguyen, TJ Cloutier and other pros is
invaluable training," says Lee Childs. Childs attended a boot camp in
April, 2007. 90 days later he was playing in the 2007 WSOP Main Event
where he finished 7th and won over $700,000. "I can certainly attribute
much of my success to things that I learned at the Boot Camp," added
Childs. Childs is now an instructor for WPT Boot Camp.
