Media Advisory: Veteran and Youth Delegates Prepare to 
Travel to the Netherlands

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 28, 2005) - The Honourable Albina 
Guarnieri, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will lead a Government of 
Canada delegation including 126 veterans, representatives of veterans' 
organizations, Parliamentarians, youth and War Amps Operation Legacy 
representatives to the Netherlands from May 1 to 10 for events 
commemorating the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.

The official delegation will meet in Ottawa on April 30 for a tour of 
the new Canadian War Museum.

Media are invited to join the official delegation in the LeBreton 
Gallery at the Canadian War Museum at noon for a luncheon and photo-op. 
At that time, Minister Guarnieri and the Director and Chief Executive 
Officer of the Canadian War Museum, Joe Geurts will speak to the 
delegation at an official luncheon. Following the luncheon, the 
delegation will gather for a group photo.

Media will not be permitted to accompany veterans through the Museum. 
Media are invited to the Canadian War Museum's official media launch, 
scheduled for May 2.

Veterans and youth will be very eager to share their thoughts on the 
upcoming overseas events.

Throughout 2005, the Year of the Veteran, high profile ceremonies and 
events in Canada and overseas will commemorate Canadian veterans and 
celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. For
