U.S. Rep Boucher (D-VA), FCC Acting Chairman Copps to Keynote "Broadband Policy Summit V: Building Out America"
WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - U.S. Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA), and Michael Copps, Acting Chairman of the FCC, will keynote Pike & Fischer's "Broadband Policy Summit V: Building Out America" (www.broadbandpolicysummit.com) at The Sheraton Crystal City, Arlington, VA, on Thursday and Friday, June 18-19, 2009.
During the two-day Summit, business and government leaders will define and debate the trends, issues and problems shaping policy decisions that will foster or inhibit the high-speed Internet, Voice-over-IP, and IP video sectors. Additional keynotes will be announced shortly.
Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet, will open the Summit with his Morning Keynote on Thursday, June 18. Acting FCC Chairman Michael J. Copps, an ardent and tireless advocate of a clear national broadband policy, will deliver keynote remarks during the luncheon later that day.
This year's Summit program will include interactive debates covering regulatory and legislative activity, net neutrality/network management, ongoing broadband build-out initiatives, insights from key Capitol Hill legislative staff and forecasts from top Wall Street analysts. In addition, representatives of the broadband industry and its customers will debate the risks and rewards of the rapidly changing wireless environment. The results of Pike & Fischer's exclusive "2009 Communications Industry Survey: Views on the U.S. Economic & Regulatory Climate" will also be unveiled during the event.
