KELOWNA,BC,CELEBRITY GOLF INVITATIONAL--(Marketwire - July 24, 2008) - The first ever Kids Rock Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament (KRKCI) is kicking off in the Okanagan Valley August 27 - 31, with the purpose of raising funds for Children's Wish, Canadian Cancer Society's Camp Goodtimes, and Kelowna General Hospital.

Jimmy Jean-Louis - Actor / Model, "Tears of the Sun", Hollywood Homicide", "Monster-in-law"
Mario Lemieux - 17 seasons with Pittsburgh Penguins, NHL hockey player
Suzie McNeil - Recording artist, reality TV "Rockstar INXS"

Dennis Haysbert - Actor (break-out role: Love Field with Michelle Pfeiffer)

In all, over 40 stars and professional athletes are expected to attend the event.

Founder of the charity event, Andy Buckner, spent two years battling cancer and wanted to help improve the lives of children with an illness. While attending a celebrity Golf Tournament in January 2008, Andy decided to create the Kids Rock Celebrity Golf Tournament, and hopes to raise $100,000 for the charitable causes.
