Trustwave Introduces PCI DSS Education Series for IT and Security Professionals

Global PCI DSS Training Program Reduces Cost of Meeting Compliance Requirements

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - August 4, 2010) -  Trustwave, the global leader in Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance management solutions, has introduced a new education program to train IT professionals on the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This program helps customers interpret the requirements and gives them the knowledge to achieve and maintain compliance in the most cost efficient manner. Based on Trustwave's Assessment Methodology™, developed through more than 4,000 PCI DSS engagements, this education program is only available from Trustwave.

Compliance with the PCI DSS is a requirement for all entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major card brands -- Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB. Trustwave has conducted more PCI DSS engagements worldwide than all other assessors combined, and brings this experience to bear in this innovative education series.

The training program provides an overview of the PCI DSS regulatory environment, card processing vulnerabilities and threats, and an in-depth review of each requirement. The two-day series taps into a global knowledge base from the most experienced team in the world. The educational series is designed for executives, compliance officers, information security and information technology professionals, to help build an organizational PCI DSS understanding and implement a methodology for the compliance process.

"As the leading global provider of PCI DSS compliance services, we're in a unique position to share our knowledge and expertise," says Andy Bokor, executive director, EMEA, APAC for Trustwave. "This education series is the most important step an organization can take to reduce the cost of validating and maintaining compliance."

"The course provided practical, in-depth information on the best ways to protect card holder data in a cost-effective manner," says Nabeel Najeeb, Manager of IT for Akbartravelsonline.com, who recently attended Trustwave's PCI DSS education course in India. "The insight we gained will help us give our customers a faster, more secure online buying experience."

"Education should be the obvious first step in achieving compliance the proper way," says Sunil Sharma, managing director APAC for Trustwave. "Organizations frequently incur unnecessary costs in their efforts to become compliant and this training is helping our customers avoid that."
