TriGeo Network Security Executives to Present at Interop New York 2008
CEO and CTO Will Showcase How Security Information and Event Management Gives Organizations Network Control and Compliance
POST FALLS, ID--(Marketwire - September 8, 2008) - Two executives from TriGeo Network Security
will share best practices for network, device and data security at Interop
New York 2008, taking place September 15-19 at The Javits Center.
President and CEO Michelle Dickman and CTO Michael Maloof will showcase the
value of security information and event management (SIEM) to protect
endpoints and network infrastructure from both external hackers and trusted
insiders.
Dickman, who has more than 20 years of experience in software and financial
services, helps hundreds of midmarket banks, credit unions, retailers and
government organizations develop and implement security strategies to
proactively protect their networks and maximize the value of security and
compliance solutions.
Her presentation will address how SIEM gives organizations control of their
networks and the ability to demonstrate regulatory compliance to industry
auditors. Attendees will learn how real-time correlation of network events
automates response to emerging attacks and insider abuse and misuse.
Dickman will demonstrate how to stop attacks, such as malicious code,
policy violations, inappropriate Web browsing and unauthorized USB device
usage -- an especially relevant attack in light of the Countrywide insider
arrested earlier this month for stealing about two million customer records
through a USB drive.
WHO: Michelle Dickman, president and CEO, TriGeo Network Security
WHAT: "Forensics are Not Enough! Case Studies in Proactive Network Defense
Using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Technology"
WHEN: Wednesday, September 17th, 2:30 - 3:15 p.m.
WHERE: Interop New York; The Javits Center, Free Education Room #2
Maloof has more than 25 years in technology research, design and
development, and is the co-inventor of TriGeo's patented event correlation
approach. Author of the TriGeoSphere blog, Maloof leads TriGeo's team of
engineers and researchers who analyze network and user actions in
real-time, giving midmarket IT departments new capabilities to instantly
identify and stop unauthorized network activities.
Maloof will participate in a panel discussion on attacks targeting
endpoints and network infrastructure. The panel, moderated by a Forrester
analyst and also comprised of executives from McAfee, Symantec and Sophos,
will highlight how to choose endpoint security tools and protect networks
from spyware, Trojan horse applications, keystroke loggers and other
malicious software installed without users' and organizations' knowledge.
WHO: Michael Maloof, CTO, TriGeo Network Security
WHAT: "What About the Endpoint? A Discussion of Endpoint Security Concepts
and Trends." Panel discussion moderated by Khalid Kark, principal analyst
at Forrester Research. Other panelists: Dave Marcus, director of security
