BergHOFF International Launch New Green Kitchenware Line by Partnering With Tree Canada Called Earthchef

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 6, 2008) - BergHOFF International and Tree Canada are working together to make Canada a greener place to live.

BergHOFF International has been producing kitchen products since 1964. Recently, the company has adopted a new green policy which focuses on reducing pollutants at the manufacturing level. To show their commitment to the environment, BergHOFF has launched EarthchefTM, a kitchenware product line which is energy efficient, uses natural ceramic non-stick coatings, renewable resources like bamboo, and recyclable packaging.

For every Marquee Tree Canada 11" skillet sold BergHOFF International will sponsor Tree Canada to plant a tree and maintain its survival for five years.

"BergHOFF is delighted to work with Tree Canada and Canadians across the country to help reduce our carbon footprint. This entire Earthchef program was designed specifically for Canadians, recognizing that sustainability is not just a trend, but a fundamental change in consumer needs." says Peter Vivona who manages BergHOFF Canada. "We want to protect that which is most important, our families and our community. BergHOFF is thankful for such great partners, specifically our charitable partner Tree Canada, our retail partners The Bay, Zellers, and Home Outfitters, our celebrity chef Roger Mooking of Everyday Exotic, Food Network, and especially our customers. Together we are making a difference!"

"At Tree Canada, we are proud that companies see us as part of the solution in becoming more environmentally-friendly," says Michael Rosen, President of Tree Canada. "By reducing waste and planting trees, our partnership will help benefit all Canadians."

The trees will be planted in five main regions (British Columbia, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic) across Canada in 2009. Tree species will be determined according to site (i.e. "the right tree for the right place").
