Timetripper'TM': World's Greatest Board Game Inventors Make Their Next Move at 2006 Toy Fair

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 13, 2006) - More than 20 years since Trivial Pursuit® sold 20 million copies in one year and BalderdashTM hit store shelves, these two inventors are joining forces at the American International Toy Fair, each with a new game that proves they're still pros at the business of fun.

Chris Haney, of Trivial Pursuit®, is launching TimetripperTM, a fast-paced trivia game "with a past and an attitude" while Laura Robinson, the Canadian actress behind BalderdashTM, is unveiling !dentity Crisis, a hilarious celebrity guessing game.

"Chris and Laura are giants in our industry - they're our Charles Darrow's (Monopoly)," says Sandy Heaton. As a former national account manager at Chieftain Games, Heaton was front and centre in the Trivial Pursuit® craze, as the game skyrocketed to become the number one trivia board game in history.

"Both TimetripperTM and !dentity Crisis have the hallmarks of becoming big hits like their predecessors," Heaton says. "It's going to be a great year for gamers!"

TimetripperTM challenges players to guess the year of historical events - whether they're as era-defining as the first Coca-Cola sold in cans (1955) or as momentous as when Osama Bin Laden founded Al Qaeda (1988).

"Players marvel as history appears right before their eyes," Haney says. "The luck of the roll means players don't have to know their years bang-on, heightening the fun and the competition."

"We took the concept of Celebrity and updated it with !dentity Crisis," says Robinson. " We've thrown in a few curve balls to make it more fun and exciting. It's a riot!"

According to the NPD Group, the timing couldn't be better. Board game sales rose by more than 12% during 2005, outpacing the entire toy sector.

ABOUT CHRIS HANEY: Developed over a year of intensive research and design, TimetripperTM is a new creation from Chris Haney, the co-inventor of Trivial Pursuit®. Called "the biggest phenomenon in game history," by Time Magazine, Trivial Pursuit® has sold more than 90 million copies worldwide since its introduction in 1982.
