Stylus Studio® 2008 XML Enterprise Suite Adds New XQuery & Web Services Tools, Support for MySQL®, PostgreSQL, HL7 EDI, and Microsoft .NET Code Generation to Further Simplify Advanced XML Data Integration
BEDFORD, MA--(Marketwire - December 11, 2007) - Stylus Studio (http://www.stylusstudio.com), an
industry-leading provider of XML tools and components for advanced data
integration, today announced the immediate availability of Stylus Studio®
2008 XML Enterprise Suite. The latest release features all-new XML
productivity tools designed to further simplify and automate frequently
encountered programming tasks, and it offers increased support for several
popular databases and industry standards, easing XML data integration
tasks, particularly in heterogeneous computing environments.
"We use Stylus Studio 2008 to create XSL stylesheets and XML Schemas for
the display and mapping of our EDI transactions. Our computing environment
includes an IBM iSeries, and JDE OneWorld with an Oracle database. Now,
we're using Stylus Studio to develop a system for inter-company
transactions," said Michael Ala, eCommerce Service Line Leader, BP
Lubricants USA Inc. "Stylus Studio 2008 is ideal for these heterogeneous
computing environments, enabling connectivity to our various data sources
while simplifying data mapping from one file format to another through an
intuitive, graphical user interface."
The following highlights some of the new features included in Stylus Studio
2008 XML Enterprise Suite:
-- Web Services Description Language (WSDL) editor: Visually design a Web
service interface using an intuitive, graphical tool that features
drag-and-drop functionality, validation, and more.
-- Support MySQL, PostgreSQL and Informix databases: Through support of DataDirect XQuery® 3.1, developers can
now seamlessly access relational data in MySQL®, PostgreSQL, and IBM
Informix as XML using XQuery; this is in addition to previously supported
databases that include Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2.
-- Support for HL7 EDI: Includes both automated XML schema generation from
HL7, and HL7-to-XML conversion through support of DataDirect XML Converters™ 3.1.
Other EDI data formats already supported include EDIFACT, X12, IATA, and
EANCOM.
-- Support for HTML-to-XML Conversion: Convert HTML files to XML documents
using the HTML to XML Document Wizard.
-- Microsoft .NET Code Generation: Automatically generate the C# code
required to run your XML application for a variety of different scenarios,
including XSLT, XQuery, and XML Pipeline applications. Supports both the
Microsoft .NET and Saxon.NET XML processors.
-- Usability and Performance Enhancements to the XML Editor, XQuery Mapper,
XML Pipeline Designer, and XML Schema Editor.
"Stylus Studio 2008 further pushes developer productivity by providing an
even more comprehensive XML developer tool set, and support for more
databases and data sources," said Robert Evelyn, DataDirect VP Strategy and
General Manager XML Products Group. "Companies looking for a productive,
