Stroud Intersects Wide Mineralized Zone at Santo Domingo

97.6 metres (320 feet) of 158.83 g/t silver and 0.49 g/t gold, including 1,521.2 (g/t) silver and 1.15 (g/t) gold over 4.6 metres

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 23, 2008) - Stroud Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SDR)("Stroud") today announced more encouraging results from its current drill program at the Santo Domingo project in central Mexico. The latest two drill holes have further extended to the northwest the wide mineralized zone encountered on the Rayas structure.

Drill hole #27 encountered the widest mineralized section reported by the company to date. A 50-metre step out hole was drilled to the northwest from the last holes reported on June 20th 2008.

Drill hole #26, drilled on section 5582 North, intersected a number of excellent grade mineralized zones. DDH-26 was drilled on the same section as DDH-23, DDH-24 and DDH-25, and intersected 12.2 metres of 281.2 g/t silver and 0.80 g/t gold which translates to a silver equivalent(1) of 322.8 g/t, including 7.65 metres of 356.09 g/t silver and 1.09 g/t gold, for a 412.72 g/t silver equivalent(1). This same hole also intersected 641.0 g/t silver and 1.55 g/t gold over 1.55 metres, for a 658.16 g/t silver equivalent(1); and 4.5 metres of 122.41 g/t silver and 0.92 g/t gold, for a silver equivalent(1) of 170.25 g/t.

Drill hole #27 intersected a very wide zone of mineralization that assayed 158.83 g/t silver and 0.49 g/t gold over 97.6 metres, for a silver equivalent(1) of 184.31 g/t, including 61.0 metres of 220.27 g/t silver and 0.64 g/t gold for a silver equivalent(1) 253.55 g/t, and 1,521.20 g/t silver and 1.15 g/t gold over 4.6 metres, for a silver equivalent(1) of 1581.0 g/t.

The drill core sampling program includes onsite supervision of sampling by Dr. Derek McBride, 10% blanks and certified standard reference samples. The drill core is sawed in half, with one half sent out for assay and the other half stored in Stroud's secure facility. The samples are subjected to full sample preparation followed by a 30 g fire assay with a gravimetric finish.
