EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 18, 2011) - The Edmonton Social Media Breakfast (SMBYEG) is pleased to announce , Nikki Van Dusen, digital media manager for EPCOR, as this month's guest speaker.
The topic for the fourth SMBYEG is:
"Social media and bureaucracies: Can they get along?"
Though companies today realize the value of social media, often bureaucracies and social media are at loggerheads. After helping to implement social media strategies at the University of Alberta, the Government of Alberta, and early stages at EPCOR, Nikki Van Dusen has some tips for getting these two seemingly incongruous juggernauts to play nice(r) together.
Stay after the discussion to network and share ideas within the realm of social media. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new-media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend.
Seating is limited and fills up quickly so hurry to book your place on Eventbrite.com.

About SMBYEG
SMBYEG houses an open environment to share today's best and worst examples of social media, as practiced by individuals, industries and organizations in Edmonton and around the world. Guest speakers share their experience and expertise of social media use, followed by an opportunity to network with a community of like-minded individuals.
The SMB was founded by Bryan Person in August 2007 as an event for social media newbies and experts to come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. The breakfast series began in Boston and has now spread to more than three dozen cities around the world. The Calgary and Edmonton chapters of the SMB were started by Scott Baird of McQ Design Strategies as a place for social media enthusiasts to discuss effective practices and new techniques.
