Sage Healthcare Aligns With Texas Association of Community Health Centers to Offer Streamlined Contract

Uniform Contract Most Friendly CHC Agreement in Texas to Date

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Sage Healthcare Division, a unit of Sage North America and a major provider of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software and services, announced today that it has finalized a uniform community health center contract with the Texas Association of Community Health Centers, TACHC, and the contract will be available to all Texas community health centers.

Sage Healthcare Division currently provides EHR and practice management solutions for several CHCs in Texas, as well as provides software solutions for more than 20 percent of all CHCs throughout the United States. As part of the new agreement with TACHC, two Texas CHCs, Gateway Community Health Center and United Medical Centers, purchased Sage products including Sage Intergy CHC, a practice management solution specifically designed for CHCs, and Sage Intergy EHR.

The uniform contract with Sage Healthcare Division will make negotiating and implementing Sage Intergy EHR a simpler and smoother business transaction for all Texas CHCs.

"Offering a uniform Sage contract ensures all CHCs a successful implementation while providing the highest service level agreements and most financial protection," said Lee Horner, senior vice president of sales for Sage Healthcare Division. "The agreement between TACHC and Sage will make business easier for all Texas CHCs as they continue to deliver quality care to thousands of Texas patients."

Sage Healthcare Division is a major provider of electronic health records and practice management software and solutions, serving approximately 400,000 healthcare professionals including 80,000 physicians throughout the United States. Sage Intergy EHR is a comprehensive clinical, financial and administrative solution that empowers physicians to advance the quality and efficiency of care they deliver.

Sage Intergy EHR system includes integrated electronic health records and practice management solutions, clinical and business intelligence and a Web-based portal for online patient engagement. Providers can access Sage Intergy EHR from multiple practice locations, from home or other remote locations either through a central patient database server, or as a Sage-hosted solution on a monthly subscription basis.

Helping to advance TACHC's mission, which is to provide guidance and support to Texas CHCs, the uniform contract embodies best practice contract clauses for any center that wants to partner with Sage.

"Centers needed a contract that protects their investment of funds and time in implementing an integrated IT solution," said José E. Camacho, Executive Director and General Counsel for TACHC. "This contract provides critical protection to centers and in the clearest terms possible outlines the expectations and responsibilities for each party. Finally we have a company willing to stand behind their marketing."

Sage Healthcare Division's electronic health record and reporting tool is one of the most robust systems on the market that fit the needs of CHCs. Sage Intergy EHR features centralized financial operations including billing, reporting, task management, and fully integrates with EDI services, Sage Intergy Practice Portal, Sage Intergy RIS and Sage Practice Analytics.

The agreement between TACHC and Sage underwent rigorous review and a lengthy negotiation, and reflects CHC best practices better than any other EHR contract TACHC has seen to date.

CHC clients considering Sage Intergy EHR may contact José E. Camacho or Cecile Carson at TACHC or Sage's representative for Texas CHCs, Thomas Farmer, at 407-331-8480 or e-mail tom.farmer@sage.com.
