Regal Life Adds Wine Industry Veteran to Advisory Board
PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - December 15, 2008) - Regal Life Concepts, Inc. (OTCBB: RGLC) is
pleased to announce that it has added Terry C. Moran to the Company's
Advisory Board. Mr. Moran will assist Regal Life and its pending portfolio
investment company, Awa Wine Co. Ltd., in the overview and oversight of
marketing strategy, branding and in identifying premium wine brands for
distribution through the growing Awa Wine distribution network in Asia.
As a 12-year veteran of the international wine scene, Mr. Moran possesses
in-depth knowledge of the global wine distribution marketplace. As
President of Amati Corporation, he founded the highly acclaimed, super
premium Schönmarke Gold Icewine brand and has developed a successful wine
distribution business. He created a global market for the Schönmarke brand,
which includes international distribution into Asia and Europe. As the
first Icewine marketed in American duty free stores, Schönmarke pioneered
and established the Icewine category in duty free channels.
Mr. Moran's wine brand building experience has given him a unique
perspective on the art and practice of corporate identity development. In
addition to marketing his own Icewine brand, he also represents California
wineries in travel retail and export markets and consults with wine
companies on product branding and market penetration strategy.
Mr. Moran's international experience includes the expansion of the
Schönmarke Icewine brand to Japan, Korea and Taiwan and he has attained
strategic high-level knowledge of the China wine import and distribution
business.
Terry Moran commented: "It is indeed a pleasure to join the Regal Life
advisory board as I see tremendous opportunity in the emerging wine import
business in China. The Awa Wine distribution and wine club membership
concept is very impressive. I believe the Awa business model presents great
opportunities for scaling up its operations quickly and that the company
will soon become widely known as an innovator in the premium wine import
business in China."
Eric Wildstein, Regal's CEO, stated: "With the pending strategic investment
in China-based Awa Wine Co., we are extremely pleased to be in a position
to leverage the wine industry expertise of Mr. Moran. In addition to
advising Regal Life management in areas relating to this rapidly growing
sector, Mr. Moran may also provide opportunities for expanding wine product
assortments through his sourcing network of contacts within North American
and European wine industries."
China Wine Marketplace
The market for wine in China is on a steady and accelerating growth curve.
With the middle class in China estimated to soon exceed the entire United
States population -- the demand among these urban consumers is driving the
emergence of the industry. Specifically, this growing demographic of
affluent Chinese is developing into a large market for imported wines.
Since the mid-1990s there has been a significant increase in wine
consumption in large and medium-sized cities in China, which has led to a
dramatic rise in wine imports. The average annual growth rate of this
market exceeds 15%.
Evidence of the emerging popularity of imported wine is the fact that,
according to Chinese Customs Service, annual wine imports have grown from
711,000 litres in 1995 to more than 41 million litres in 2007.
