MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2008) - ATTENTION NEWSDESKS, LIFESTYLE AND SPORTS EDITORS

Reebok has teamed up with running specialty retailer Running Room to present an incomparable running event: the Hypothermic Half Marathon. Until February 24, 2008, 14 cities across Canada will participate in the 21K race, in the heart of winter.

This Saturday, the 16th, the Hypothermic Half Marathon is making a stop in Montreal. More than 450 runners will join Reebok to brave the winter elements. All participants will have a chance to chill out at the Reebok outdoor tent, where representatives from Reebok Canada and members of the Reebok running team will be present to give information on our best winter running equipment. Visitors will also have an opportunity to try out Reebok's new running gear.

Founded three years ago, the Hypothermic Half-Marathon continues to grow in popularity. This year, Reebok has risen to this occasion without parallel to reinforce its commitment to running: to offer technologies in running that respond to the specific needs of all runners, in all conditions.

"Dating back to 1895, Reebok's roots have been running. To strengthen its position as one of the leaders in running, today Reebok offers a wide range of innovations that cater to the needs of all types of runners," explained Selma Filali, Marketing Director for Reebok Canada. "Whether at coast-to-coast retailers such as the Running Room, or in our own Reebok concept store here in Montreal, consumers will be able to discover our extended Reebok running offering and get their foot out the door with technology-driven products."

The apparel Reebok plans to showcase at the Hypothermic Half-Marathon is the Premier Soft Shell Jacket for men and women. Its "Kinetic Fit System" with extendible panels improves the runners comfort, and the "Playshield" technology protects the athletes from inclement weather. On the footwear side, the Premier Road Plus KFS AW offers weather proof properties. It also features the "Kinetic Fit System" that increases the flexibility in areas with higher pressure points. To top it off, it is both snow and water resistant to keep your feet dry.

In addition, all proceeds from the race will go to The Lighthouse Foundation, which provides housing for pediatric palliative care.
