Purple Wave 'Local Online' Farm Equipment Auction Will Sell Approximately 90 Machines by April 22

MANHATTAN, KS--(Marketwire - April 1, 2009) - Scores of pieces of farm machinery -- including tractors, combines, balers and even electronic guidance systems -- are being sold using Purple Wave's unique auction format that combines face-to-face inspections with online bidding.

Online bidding has already begun on most of approximately 90 items, which are clustered in four locations -- Carrico Equipment's locations in Hays, Beloit and Lincoln, Kan., and Riggins R-CO LLC's headquarters in Marshall, Mo. All of the equipment is being sold without reserve.

The equipment being sold includes at least nine tractors, 10 balers, 12 sprayers and three combines, according to Aaron McKee, president of Purple Wave. Also being sold are precision farming devices that use satellite technology to allow farmers to cultivate, fertilize and seed their fields more efficiently and with less overlap.

"This auction is a very significant in Purple Wave's growth and reflects the creative management of both Carrico and Riggins. Both of these excellent dealerships have shown a remarkable ability to look beyond the way things have done in the past and recognize our 'local online' concept as an effective way to reduce their inventories of used equipment," said McKee.

Bidders will be able to view the equipment at the four locations, then enter their bids online at www.purplewave.com. Individuals interested in more information about the assets being sold may call Purple Wave at 785-537-5057 or visit the company's web site at www.purplewave.com.

Purple Wave Auction, headquartered in Manhattan, Kan., auctions commercial real estate, land, and agricultural/industrial equipment, as well as other types of property using its combination of in-person marketing and online bidding. The company was founded in 2000.
