Tri-County Public Relations Professionals to Learn Tips From Top Sports Communication Pros
ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - July 21, 2008) - A panel of top communications experts from the Greater Los Angeles Area sports teams will be discussing their media and community relations experiences, challenges and opportunities with members of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, at the Home Plate Club of the Angels Stadium of Anaheim, 2000 Gene Autry Way.
Michael Roth, Vice President of Communications, AEG (Staples Center), will moderate the panel which includes: Tim Mead, Vice President, Anaheim Angels; Josh Rawitch, Vice President, Public Relations and Broadcasting, Los Angeles Dodgers; John Black, Director of Public Relations, LA Lakers; Patrick Donnelly, Director of Communications, LA Galaxy; Mike Alteri, Vice President Communications & Broadcasting, LA Kings; John Tamanaha, Vice President Communications, The Avengers; Keegan Pierce, Director of Communications, Chivas USA; Steve Hoem, PR Manager, The Mighty Ducks; and Shera Everett, PR Coordinator, The Sparks. The panel will present case studies and outline some of the media challenges they have faced along their careers. They will also discuss how they turned challenges into opportunities to meet their goals.
This event marks the first effort in joint programming for the Inland Empire, Los Angeles and Orange County chapters of PRSA. Members of the three organizations may benefit from this distinguished sports panel and implement these learned skills into their own professional endeavors. In addition, attendees may take advantage of networking opportunities to build relationships and resources for future ventures and projects.
Following the luncheon and panel discussion at the Home Plate Club, participants will enjoy the Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles game.
Cost for the event is: $55 for PRSA members; $65 non-members; $48 students and Young Professional Members. The cost includes a ticket to the baseball game. Parking at the stadium is $8, in addition to the price of the event ticket.
