(AMEX: PKT), a pioneering developer of telco-class network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, today announced that Engeplus Internet of Criciúma, Brazil, has chosen Procera's PacketLogic to provide network application traffic management across its wired, wireless and fiber-optic networks. Engeplus serves more than 7,000 customers across 12 cities in Santa Catarina state, with fiber-optic service to more than 400 buildings, and provides campus-wide wireless services to 5 major enterprises in the region.

Facing the prospect of an expensive upgrade to a 4-year-old competitive product, Engeplus began looking at alternatives. At a regional exposition, they were introduced to PacketLogic by LightComm Tecnologia e Servicos, a long-time Procera channel partner.

Engeplus offers its customers a wide range of tiered bandwidth choices, from 300 Kb to 2 Mbps wireless connection and up to 10Mbps for fiber-optic customers, and utilizes PacketLogic to assure quality of service (QoS) and service levels. PacketLogic also allows the ISP to manage peer-to-peer applications such as BitTorrent, Gnutella, and eDonkey to ensure fair use of bandwidth between users and avert network slowdowns.
