Partners GREEN Letter to President Obama
BRIGHTON, MI--(Marketwire - January 23, 2009) - In response to President Obama's call for a new, green based economy, Partners GREEN (Group for a Renewable Energy Efficient Nation) is requesting a meeting to establish a national energy policy to facilitate his vision of renewable energy and modernization of our schools.
On February 25, 2009, Partners GREEN will deliver a letter to the President that seeks the elimination of barriers for third party, onsite renewable energy generation. We invite you to review the letter below and sign our petition.
RE: Onsite Renewable Energy, Efficiencies and Education at Our Nation's Schools
Mr. President,
We share your vision of renewable energy and modernization of our nation's schools as the foundation to fuel our country's economic recovery. Unfortunately, current energy regulations and policies no longer serve the intent of facilitating, but rather, impede the implementation of onsite renewable energy at our schools.
Partners GREEN (Group for a Renewable Energy Efficient Nation) is a Michigan-based, non-profit organization promoting a national petition to remove regulatory barriers to the installation of onsite renewable energy systems. The policy we advocate permits schools to receive onsite renewable energy from third party private investment.
A successful example is Project EverGREEN Schools®. This program features onsite renewable energy, energy efficiencies, hands-on energy curriculum, student scholarships and reduced energy costs.
Presently, millions of citizens have expressed their desire for renewable energy by joining our effort to pursue a national energy policy. Support for our policy is represented by 136 school districts, 43 universities/colleges, their communities, businesses, teachers, elected officials, organizations and individuals.
A national energy policy will remove the myriad of regulatory inconsistencies currently found among all states. It will also foster technological discoveries that will lead to new job creation and fuel economic recovery. Partners GREEN requests a meeting to help frame a more cohesive energy policy that removes these unintentional barriers and offers our assistance in addressing this issue.
