FDA's Janet Woodcock, MD, Confirmed as Keynote Speaker September 8, 2008, PDA/FDA Joint Regulatory Conference

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - August 20, 2008) - Today, the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) announced that Janet Woodcock, MD, Director, CDER, FDA will give the keynote presentation September 8th during the Opening Plenary Session of the 2008 PDA/FDA Joint Regulatory Conference (www.pda.org/pdafda2008).

Woodcock will join Emer Cooke, Head, Inspections Sector, EMEA; Tang Minhai, Deputy Director, SHFDA; and Roger Williams, MD, Executive Vice President and CEO, USP to speak about the initiatives being taken by their respective agencies to implement modernization changes needed to achieve global harmonization.

To date, more than 30 FDA speakers and other regulatory representatives will be present at the 2008 PDA/FDA Joint Regulatory Conference to speak on topics related to Harmonization, Implementation and Modernization: Achieving a Future Vision as it relates to the bio/pharmaceutical industry.

"The conference program will examine how regulatory and industry have partnered to ensure and maintain pharmaceutical quality, and identify the strategies that are working and those that need to be improved to achieve modernized quality systems," said PDA's President, Robert Myers.
