Panasonic and Staples Come Together to Trade In and Trade Up for the Environment

Out With the Old, in With the Green: Consumers Can Recycle Old Phones, Purchase New Panasonic Telephones and Receive $30 Back in Staples Rewards

SECAUCUS, NJ--(Marketwire - October 8, 2008) - Panasonic and Staples have teamed up to announce a recycling event that will reward Staples customers for going green. From October 12 to November 15, customers can responsibly recycle their old telephones at any Staples store and receive $30 back in Staples Rewards with the purchase of any qualifying Panasonic environmentally-friendly cordless telephone. Eligible models start at a suggested retail price of $74.99 and include the following models:

Panasonic's DECT phones are Energy Star-qualified, which means that they use approximately one-third the energy of a non-Energy Star-qualified product. Panasonic also uses 100 percent recycled material and no Styrofoam in its telephone packaging. The company's DECT phones also comply with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulations to ensure that the use of certain potentially harmful chemicals in these phones is significantly minimized.
