Ontario Trucking Association: Media Advisory-Ontario Transportation Minister Donna Cansfield to Make First Major Address to Trucking Industry

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 16, 2006) - Ontario's Minister of Transportation, Donna Cansfield will make her first official address to the leaders of Ontario's trucking industry at a luncheon meeting on Friday, November 17th at the 80th annual convention of the Ontario Trucking Association. Her speech will take place at approx. 1:30 pm at the Freightliner Luncheon (12:30 pm - 2:45 pm) Hall A, Toronto congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road, Toronto).

About 600 CEOs and senior managers from Ontario trucking companies will be on hand to hear Minister Cansfield's plans for improving highway safety, infrastructure investment, and, ensuring Ontario's economic competitiveness and prosperity.

The two-day OTA convention takes place Nov. 16 & 17 and is Canada's largest gathering of trucking industry leaders (total attendance is expected to top 4,500 delegates.

The Ontario Trucking Association was founded in 1926 and provides services and policy advocacy for its members. The membership includes trucking companies from virtually all Canadian provinces as well as the United States.
