Leading Provider of Healthcare Data Exchange and EMR Interoperability Experiences Record Growth in 2008

Novo Innovations Experiences Exponential Growth, Surpasses 350 Hospital Customers

ALPHARETTA, GA--(Marketwire - January 7, 2009) - Novo Innovations, healthcare's leading information exchange and EMR interoperability provider, today announced it has achieved a record year in 2008, continuing the dramatic growth it has experienced over the past few years. Adding 17 customers in 2008, Novo has nearly tripled the number of hospitals that utilize its Novo Grid solution to over 350 in 45 states nationally.

Novo more than doubled sales bookings in 2008, reflecting the growing adoption of Novo's agent grid solution as a keystone to healthcare interoperability. Coinciding with its market penetration, Novo increased staff by 70%, with key additions in services, development, sales and marketing. In spite of this dramatic growth, Novo has continued to maintain its focus on customer service and maintained excellent KLAS customer-satisfaction ratings.

"With all of the negative news in the media recently, we are pleased to announce our positive successes in 2008 and believe we are well positioned to achieve continued success and growth throughout 2009," said Robert Connely, CEO of Novo Innovations. "The need for improved information exchange in healthcare will only accelerate as the transition from paper-based to electronic-based healthcare increases."

Novo also increased its industry partner footprint, solidifying relationships with many of the top EMR vendors in the healthcare in 2008, supporting over two dozen ambulatory EMR systems including: Allscripts, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Epic, GE, Greenway Medical, MEDENT, NextGen, and Sage; and plans to continue adding extensively to this group in 2009.

"The Novo Grid has proven its sustainable business value by delivering concrete benefits and dramatic cost-to-benefit value that lowers administrative costs and improves patient care," said Mark Hanna, Vice President of Sales for Novo Innovations. "Solving the very tactical challenge of electronically bridging the 'last mile' for hospital to practice clinical data delivery and being able to adapt to the dynamics of the different environments is very compelling."
