New Mr. Puniverse Is Crowned

OREM, UT--(Marketwire - November 16, 2007) - Spectators gathered in a standing room only Gold's Gym in Orem, Utah, on the evening of November 15 to witness a momentous occasion -- the crowning of 2007's Mr. Puniverse (www.mrpuniverse.com).

Sponsored by Gold's Gym, the Mr. Puniverse Competition celebrates the puny man -- the one that struggles in lifting a medicine ball, let alone a boulder. Contestants were judged on challenges such as the following:

--  A Girly Scream Competition
--  Fight Your Way Out of a Paper Bag
--  Arm Wrestle a Cheerleader
--  The Flex-Off
    

As the night wore on, the competition came down to three finalists -- Mikey Bryant, Robin Santillan, and Kevin Maynes. After the final round of thought-provoking interview questions from judges, intense deliberations ensued. The end result was this year's Mr. Puniverse winner -- Mikey Bryant, who took home the honor after being crowned by Miss Utah USA 2007, Heather Anderson.

A freelance hair stylist, Mikey Bryant, was awarded $1000 from Gold's Gym and a VIP membership, not to mention the chance to represent puny men everywhere.

"I feel like I've been training for this moment my whole life," said Bryant. "I always knew there was something special about my puniness, and now I'm being rewarded for it!"

Second and third place were awarded to Robin Santillan and Kevin Maynes, who also received cash prizes for their winnings.

"Gold's Gym is not just for the muscular and built, but also the scrawny and weak," said Wesley Warren, Communication Director of Gold's Gym Corporate. "This competition proves that the gym is for everyone -- big and small."
