New England College of Business and Finance Receives "Military Friendly School" Designation

List Shows Veterans Which Colleges Are a Good Fit

PITTSBURGH, PA--(Marketwire - August 16, 2010) - G.I. Jobs announced that New England College of Business and Finance (NECB) has been recognized in the 2011 list of Military Friendly Schools at www.militaryfriendlyschools.com/2011list. The list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools which are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students.

New England College of Business and Finance worked to create a military friendly school that recognized military service and learning through transcript review that could provide a more efficient way to earn an associate or bachelor degree in business. "With an increased interest from military members in NECB business school programs, we wanted to honor their service by providing the support our military and veteran students need to reach their educational and career goals," stated Howard Horton, President New England College of Business and Finance.

The number of veterans using the Post 9/11 GI Bill has doubled in the last two years. The military places an increased emphasis on education and most Service members must have an associate, bachelor or master's degree to advance. Because New England College of Business and Finance offers all three degrees, military students can progressively earn their advanced degrees with the college to ensure promotion.

"The quality, flexibility and outstanding learning environment of our online programs is a perfect fit for military members," stated Horton, "We are very proud to be honored as military friendly and more proud to provide an outstanding option for military veterans ready to take the next step in their career."

In a press release from GI Jobs, Derek Blumke, president of Student Veterans of America, was quoted as saying, "The Military Friendly Schools list is the gold standard in letting veterans know which schools will offer them the greatest opportunity, flexibility and overall experience. It's especially important now with so many schools competing for military students."

This was the first time that New England College of Business and Finance was considered for the Military Friendly designation. Because the online business degree programs' costs are below most military reimbursement programs and they accept GI Bill, Tuition Assistance and have been designated Yellow Ribbon by the VA, the school easily received the designation on the first try.
