NetShelter Technology Media Presents "Last Gadget Standing" at CES
8th Annual People's Choice Competition to Vote for Gadget Most Likely to Succeed
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - December 26, 2008) - What happens when you take the top ten coolest gadgets at CES 2009, pit them head to head, and have the audience online and at a live event vote on their favorites? You get the Last Gadget Standing, one of the highlights of CES 2009.
This year contestants include a new netbook, a modular build-your-own gadget kit, a personal stress reliever, new camera phones, HD video and more. (Wish we could name names, but we're under embargo until the start of the show.)
This year's edition of Last Gadget Standing is being presented by NetShelter Technology Media, a media network of more than 150 independently owned and operated tech sites that recently passed CNET to become top technology news property in the U.S. as determined by a count of monthly unique visitors.
"Last Gadget Standing truly represents the best of the best at CES. It's the one place where you can be entertained and informed about the hottest trends in technology," said moderator and tech expert Robin Raskin.
This "American Idol" of tech gadgets will be held at the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. From among the 100-plus submissions, just 10 finalists have been chosen by judges, which include Raskin and eight editors from NetShelter Technology Media network partner sites, namely Geek.com, Slashgear.com, MobileBurn.com, PhoneArena.com, FixYa.com, I4U.com, TechEBlog.com, and TGDaily.com.
Each finalist has four minutes to demo their gadgets live, but there can be only ONE winner -- and you decide. The official winner of Last Gadget Standing will be determined by audience applause, so come show your support for your favorites.
"We truly believe that we've found the world-changing technologies of today that are sure to stand the test of time," said Patrick Houston, Chief Publisher of NetShelter Tehnology Media. "Our judges, representing NetShelter's growing network of sites, have been pouring over product submissions for the past month."
Past winners -- the Eye-Fi Card, OnStar, Roomba -- make it pretty clear that the audience knows their stuff and can pick winning technologies.
Adding to the excitement will be a tech trivia game and product giveaways, some provided by the Last Gadget Standing Competitors. Come see all ten! They're all winners.
