Media Advisory: New National Research Council, University of Ottawa Laboratory Home to Canada's Fastest X-Ray Laser

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 27, 2009) - Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Orleans, will be joined by representatives from the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and the University of Ottawa on Monday to officially open the Joint Laboratory for Attosecond Science in Ottawa.

Dr. Paul Corkum, this year's winner of Canada's most prestigious science prize, and his team will use this one-of-a-kind facility to take pictures of molecules during chemical reactions to study the motion of electrons. This is the first step to unpacking the molecules that make up all the matter of our universe.
