Media Advisory: Minister Prentice to Travel to Mexico and the U.S.
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 21, 2009) - Media representatives are advised that Environment Minister Jim Prentice will travel to Cuernavaca, Mexico on June 22 to 23 to attend a meeting of the Major Economies Forum (MEF) on Energy and Climate. At this third session Canada will continue with other countries towards achieving an ambitious and comprehensive agreement at the UNFCCC meetings in Copenhagen this December.
Minister Prentice will also travel to Denver, Colorado, on June 24 to attend the Commission for Environmental Cooperation Council. This meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation with the U.S. and Mexico on trilateral environmental priorities.
