Media Advisory/CIDA: Minister Verner to Announce Initiatives to Support the People of Kandahar

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 19, 2006) - The Honourable Josee Verner, Minister of International Cooperation and Minister for La Francophonie and Official Languages, will hold a news conference to announce two initiatives to assist the people of Afghanistan, focussing on those living in Kandahar Province.

Minister Verner will make this latest funding announcement at the Quebec City regional office of UNICEF.
