Maxim and Anpec Settle DirectDrive® Patent Litigation; Anpec Acquires License for Maxim's U.S. Family of DirectDrive Patents
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - October 30, 2008) - Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM)
announced that a settlement has been reached in the patent infringement
lawsuit that it filed against Taiwan-based Anpec Electronics Corporation on
August 27, 2007. In its complaint, Maxim alleged that certain Anpec

as well as related United States patents owned by Maxim. The details of the
settlement agreement are confidential.
"We are pleased to have reached an amicable settlement with Anpec. Maxim is

continue to defend its associated patents vigorously. Maxim's DirectDrive
technology is an important component in the Company's focus on innovative
electronics that interact with people, the physical world, its power
sources, and other digital systems," said Ron Clark, Vice President of the
Multimedia and Wireless Business Units at Maxim.
