After Friday's Bell Market Commentary

On Friday, the markets closed slightly higher. Quadruple witching created some market volatility. Gold futures settled down $3.20 at $1,010.30 an ounce. Crude for October delivery fell 43 cents to settle at $72.04 a barrel. U.S. Treasury debt prices slipped. The dollar rebounded from a one-year low. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 53.81 points, or 0.55 percent, at 9,837.73, a new high for 2009. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 10.21 points, or 0.48 percent, at 2,136.96. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.67 points, or 0.44 percent, at 1,070.16. The Russell 2000 rose 2 points to 617.
