Marines Select Dallas Firm for Commercial Technology Application
DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2007 -- The United States Marine Corps awarded a
contract to Lone Star Aerospace. The firm will study commercial markets to
assist the Corps in choosing technology for its Expeditionary Fighting
Vehicle. Lone Star teamed with Embedded Market Forecasters (EMF) for its
successful bid.
"EFV is an important program for the Marines; we are proud to be part of an
effort that matters so much," said Steve Roemerman, Lone Star's president.
The EFV program is an ACAT 1 (major acquisition) program, using Commercial
off the Shelf (COTS) technology. The command vehicle hosts a
sophisticated information processing environment, including high
performance servers, in an armored vehicle moving at high speeds, over all
terrain, and wide expanses of water. This combination of COTS usage and
severe environments is one reason the program has been identified by the
Department of Defense as a leading COTS user.
Lone Star and EMF have worked together before, using EFM's market research
to advise a number of clients. "Dr. Jerry Krasner has a national
reputation for unequaled research products and data," Roemerman said. "We
like to work with EMF because EMF has a database spanning several years,
and includes nearly every commercial market vertical using electronic
components. The rigor of EMF's research and the historical nature of the
data are without peer, and they complement our own data bases and market
research."
