MEDIA ADVISORY: Van Nuys Airport's 80th Anniversary Celebration Honors Medical Flight Teams
VAN NUYS, CA--(Marketwire - December 2, 2008) -
WHAT: Van Nuys Airport's 80th anniversary celebration, "Gift of
Flight," will honor air ambulance operators and flight crews who
provide time-critical medical transportation to save lives,
including the Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations Unit,
Helinet Aviation and AIRescue International. The dinner event
will pay special tribute to Helinet Aviation for donating a
$1.7 million helicopter, six pilots on 24-hour standby,
insurance and fuel to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles to improve
medical team response times by 60 percent. Thousands of lives
have been saved through the heroic, complex and often dangerous
missions performed by these highly-trained flight crews.

leaders; airport tenants and aviation industry representatives;
and local elected officials and staff will attend this free
event. CBS 2 News Anchor Kent Shocknek will serve as master of
ceremonies.
