Long Island Board of Realtors® Bowl-a-Thon Raises $12,000 to Strike Out Diabetes
LONG ISLAND, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2007 -- The 11th annual "Realtor Rumble"
bowl-a-thon raised more than $12,000 for the Diabetes Foundation of Long
Island. The fun-filled Realtor® event held in October at the Syosset
Lanes in Syosset, New York included unlimited bowling, raffles and prizes.
Funds raised were earmarked for diabetes research.
The event was held as part of the "We're More Than Realtors®" campaign
coordinated by the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR) and their Public
Relations Committee. This is one of many philanthropic events that
showcases the support real estate agents provide to the local community and
to nonprofit organizations on Long Island throughout the year.
"Our annual Realtor Rumble is a wonderful way to bring together dedicated
Realtors® who want to support their local communities and volunteer to
make a difference," said Gil Picard, President of LIBOR. "We are delighted
that Realtors® came together to raise a great deal of money for such a
worthy cause," added Frank Urso, Chairman of the LIBOR's Public Relations
Committee. "Realtor Rumble is another great example that demonstrates
'We're More Than Realtors®,'" he added. The fun-filled afternoon event
featured media personality Donna Donna and the WBAB Street Team who
broadcasted live from the event.
