Houweling's to Unveil 'The Future of Sustainable Agriculture' on May 14th, 2009
CAMARILLO, CA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2009) - Built at a cost of over $50 million, Houweling's has created a sustainable and controlled greenhouse growth environment that maximizes productivity, generates green/renewable energy, radically minimizes water consumption, recycles nutrients, allows no environmental runoff and generates over 450 full-time year round jobs.
Houweling's presents a visually compelling facility with: five-acre solar photovoltaic field over a four-acre water retention reservoir, 40+ acres of state-of-the-art greenhouse, advanced water treatment and environmental control technologies and flourishing tomato vines. A lift will be made available for high-vantage camera shots and most areas of the facility are open to news crews.
