TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 9, 2010) - Residents in Toronto may see three Canadian Forces CH-146 Griffon helicopters over Toronto around noon today, as preparations continue for the upcoming G8-G20 Summits.
The exercise is being conducted in support of the G8-G20 Integrated Security Unit (ISU). The helicopters may be seen flying around 12 p.m. EDT around the Summit site areas in downtown Toronto. The aircraft will subsequently return to CFB Borden, Ont.
The G8-G20 ISU is a joint forces team comprised of security experts collaborating together to ensure the safety of the Heads of State and the community. It includes members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Services and Peel Regional Police, as well as the Canadian Forces.
