Haybuster Introduces New Shortcut Bale Processor
Model 2655 Shortcut Balebuster Improves on Best Selling Product
JAMESTOWN, ND--(Marketwire - July 29, 2009) - Haybuster announced this week the release of the 2655 Shortcut Balebuster, its new shortcut bale processor. The processor improves on the 2650 Balebuster, Haybuster's best-selling product, by adding more flails, slug bars, stripper channels and increasing the rotor speed.
The 2655 Shortcut is built with the proven bale processing technology of the 2650 and over 40 years of development based on specific input from farmers and ranchers who will ultimately be the end users of the 2655 Shortcut Balebuster. The predecessor to the 2650 -- the Big Balebuster -- was developed in 1980 and has gone through continuous testing and development since then. The 2655 Shortcut benefits from the continual progression of the 2650 and will be available in limited quantities starting late this summer.
Marketing Manager Al Goehring said, "We are very excited to release this product to the market. Haybuster works hard to understand the needs and demands of the people who use our equipment, and the 2655 Shortcut was designed to meet those needs."
With 40 flails, nine slug bars, three stripper channels and 1,300 rpm, the 2655 Shortcut obtains a shorter cut of hay than the 2650. The flails grab more hay while the slug bars slow down the processing, causing the hay to be cut into smaller pieces. The stripper channels provide additional steel angles for the hay to hit and be cut again. The higher speed of the rotor provides more times that the flails can hit the hay and cut more times per minute.
A shorter cut helps maximize feed intake, keeps waste and spoilage to a minimum, and offers dairy and beef producers more solutions.
The 2655 Shortcut's recommended PTO horsepower requirement is 65 HP to 155 HP. Forty heavy-duty 3-lb. (1.26 kg) flails work to process bales up to 6 feet long by 6.5 feet in diameter (1.83 m x 1.98 m) and weighing up to 2,200 lbs. (1,000 kg). The 2655 Shortcut has a maximum horizontal spread of up to 50 feet for straw and discharges on the right-hand side.
